Lee DeWyze's parents thank all Lee's fans/"Beautiful Day" video
American Idol Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze's parents wrote an article for "The Daily Herald" which they wanted to share with the world. Here it is on video along with Lee's version of U2's "Beautiful Day".
Lee's humility and talent made it easy to support him on his journey. I had the privilege of attending the Arlington Park concert and was able to see him interact with students in his former school first hand. It was truly an amazing experience for me. One that I will not forget. I wish him all the best.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. DeWyze for raising such a good kid. I wish I had one like him. He has what I have always thought of as the Midwestern personality. People up there are really nice folk.
The DeWyze family should also be thanked for sharing their son with all of us, his fans. It is so inspiring to see that he had the full support of his family to take this journey. So many parents think their kids dreams are a waste of time and want them to focus on something "real". For Lee, this is real. And he deserves every ounce of fame he receives! I can hoestly say that all the while, I was filled with so much pride, and he's not even my kid. So, again, THANK YOU for sharing your son with us!
It has been a wonderful ride. We saw the American Idol Tour in Milwaukee and that confirmed why Lee is where he is today. We can't wait for him to come back to Chicago for a concert:)You must all be so proud of him, we certainly are!
What a beautiful letter! We had the pleasure to meet Lee after the concert in New Jersey. He was sweet, grateful and respectful. He signed every autograph and stayed past the time he was supposed to on a very hot night. He is so talented and was exactly what we expected. Such a wonderful example and inspiration to all the young fans he now has. Can't wait for his next album!
I can see how proud you are of Lee. He is the real deal with emotion that endears him to all who watch him perform. He is so talented and I am proud for you as his family. I can't wait for his next album!
