Lee Dewyze on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon/Groovier Rendition of "Beautiful Day"

Lee DeWyze, the winner of American Idol Season 9, visits Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy picked Lee to win back on May 17th when he had Idol judge Randy Jackson on the show discussing the Top 3. Lee talks about "2-chord songs you're playing for a girl" when he was a teen, how he never really played cover songs before Idol, and leaving his job at the paint store.

Lee performs a cool, groovier version of U2's "Beautiful Day" with hip hop legends The Roots.

  2. I really dislike the original song, so I cringed when I heard this would be his first single. Thank God! He put his own twist on it and I love it! Way to go Lee!
Also, after being plucked from obsecurity I'm impressed with how well spoken and calm he is during the interview. Better than most seasoned celebrities.
Anyway, I can't wait for his original CD to come out.

  4. Lee looked very relaxed on with Jimmy Fallon. He's also looked adorable as always. His acoustic version of Beautiful Day is awesome. I hope they release it on Itunes.
